Deciding What To Take With You When Moving Abroad

If you are moving with your family to an overseas destination, there will usually be a debate on what to ship or not, particularly as family members may have different opinions on certain items of furniture! It’s usually a good idea to have a clear idea in advance of your pre-move survey of what you are taking and what you aren’t taking so that your quotation will be accurate.

If you haven’t quite decided, you can tell the Surveyor which items are optional and they can be listed separately.  In any case, you should get an inventory with a list of all the items you are taking so if you do sell something / give something to charity / choose to leave it behind, it can be easily removed from the list and your quote amended at a later date.
