Moritz Factory: Antique Charm and Trendy Modernity

(by Kelsey Wilson/Feel at Home Barcelona) Care to get a taste for Barcelona´s very own hand-made artisan beer? Loved by tourists and locals alike, Moritz beer is a fan-favorite with both their light and dark beer varieties.

Popular in bars around the city, street fairs, concerts, and of course summer music festivals, this beer is made on Barcelona turf and flows liberally throughout the city. Moritz was founded in 1856 and after 10 years of renovations, the factory has reopened to the general public with multiple new additions.  Today, you can taste the plethora of their artisan products or enjoy a glass from their large list of wines.

Despite substantial renovations, the beautiful old brewery still holds its antique charm.  A restaurant was added upon its remodel, and now visitors can enjoy a fresh brew alongside some tasty menu options. Beer is delivered to the tables in bottles, freshly poured just before delivered to your table.

Customers rave about one of the crisp, fresh brews paired with an order of their patatas bravas topped with a homemade sauce.  The tapas menu is extensive, boasting many options made typical to the factory. There are also hamburgers, pizzas, a large variety of sausages, and brunch options available on weekends.
